The data analysis and processing is the central part of college physics experiments．Learning to use scientific software to extract，analyze and process experimental data is one of the main teaching goals of the “College Physics Experiments”course．It takes the Frank-Hertz experiment as an example to introduce the superiority of the scientific mapping software Gnuplot in analyzing and processing experimental data．Compared with other data processing tools，Gnuplot has the advantages of free，open source，small，powerful，easy to learn and use，which is conducive to stimulating students’interest in experiment and cultivating students’scientific literacy．
