Nowadays, ideological and political education in colleges has become the basic content of talent training in the new era. In view of the problems existing in the current Oil and Gas Gathering and Transportation Technology in the ideological and political teaching of courses, reform proposals are put forward from four aspects: fully excavating ideological and political elements, cultivating teachers' ideological and political identity, ideological and political course construction and course assessment with the hope of strengthening ideological and political elements such as patriotism, teamwork, and cultural heritage while acquiring theoretical skills.
